Walter Dean Myers stories would somely take behind in a Harlem familiarity because his action was almost the life of the African Americans that live in Harlem. The shortstop story that I read was Fighter, which is bring in his book called 145th Street: Short Stories. Its about how a simple man living in Harlem, tries to congeal a name for himself by fighting in a gym. He is the underdog that no whizz would expect to win. The orbit of this is in Harlem during the late 70s and the main characters are billy club Gilles, Al Gaines, Jimmy Walls, and Danny Vegas. The whole thing takes come out in a gym where boxing was its main criteria. The underdrawers would sit in the locker room, preparing for the fight that they had coming up.
